The Catcher in the Rye Response
Holden is really beginning to feel lonely and depressed. He calls up Sally for a date and tells her all of this different things. He also gets a prostitute. He just told the prostitute that he wanted to talk but he would still pay the money. The theme would be loneliness. When he is lonely he thinks of Allie and what he is guilty of doing, like not inviting him to the bb gun adventure.
